Thomas Armstrong Obituary

Thomas Jeffery Armstrong, age 63 passed away March 23, 2023. He was born April 27, 1959 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late John Francis and Joann Catherine (Arent) Armstrong. Tom attended Ross High School graduating with the class of 1977. During his high school years, he was quite athletic; playing baseball and football; also helping out at the family gas station. He took his place among a long line of builders; enjoying woodworking, making furniture and cabinetry. In the early 1980’s, he met the loves of his life: Diana Sanchez and her two children Lindsay and Michael. He and Diana were married October 7, 1987. The family moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1991 where he embraced cabinet building and installing; a career he continued for 30 years. Tom was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, boating, camping, trips to the smoky mountains, Montana, and Wyoming are among a few favorite destinations. He and Michael were a part of single action shooting competitions, winning several times over eight years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Joann Armstrong 

He is survived by loving wife Diana Armstrong; daughter Lindsay Armstrong and Joe Weatherly of Garland, Texas; son Michael Armstrong and Colbey Waggoner of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren: Madison Laughlin and Austin Laughlin; sisters: Jane and husband Dan Stropes of Jasper, Indiana, Cynthia and husband Robert Queen of Loveland, Ohio, Janet and husband Mitchell Fricker of Sunman, Indiana and Judith and husband Bill Rowland of Hamilton, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s honor to the Faith Presbyterian Hospice at the T. Boone Pickens Center (see link below)
