Steven Claude Barnard

Steven “Steve” Claude Barnard was born on April 4th, 1959, and went to meet with his savior on May 4th, 2022. He was a beloved son, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Steve graduated from Lancaster High School in 1977, then moved to Dallas in 1981 when he started his career with Texas Instruments. He retired from Raytheon in 2018, celebrating 36 years with the company. Steve had an outgoing personality that would grab the attention of everyone in the room. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his brother Larry, RV camping with his family, attending Texas Rangers ball games, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Steve married Darla Ann Eubanks on July 23rd, 1983. Over the next eight years, Steve would become a father to three children. One son, and two daughters. He was a loving father who loved coaching his son’s baseball games, attending his daughters’ soccer games, and taking the family on RV trips during the summer. His favorite campground was Fun Valley in South Fork, Colorado and shared many great memories with his family there.

Steve is survived by his wife Ann Barnard, sister Carol Clark, his son Justin and his wife Haley Barnard, his daughter Candice Barnard, and youngest daughter Kristin and her husband Kyle Cooper. He has three grandchildren, Hayden Cooper, Jackson Cooper, Grace Barnard, and another granddaughter, Evelyn Barnard, who is expected to arrive in July.

Steve was preceded by his father James Marvin Barnard, mother Mary Nell Barnard, his brother James “Jimmy” Barnard, and brother Larry Barnard.

Services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Green Funeral Home at 105 Vintage Drive, Red Oak, Texas 75154 at 2:00pm. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, with the memorial service to immediately follow.
