Reuben Garcia

Reuben Garcia, age 54 of Ferris, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born Friday, August 26, 1966 in Ennis, Texas to the late Jessie R. and Judy (Caudillo) Garcia. A lifelong resident to the area, he met, fell in love with and later married the love of his life, Linda J. Kerr on December 8, 1986. This union was blessed by two wonderful children. Reuben was an Aluminum Extrusion Supervisor for Tower Extrusions in Wylie, Texas where he served for seven years before his retirement. He loved many sports, but most loved baseball. He played from a young age, through high school and for the South Dallas Men’s League. He also coached his children in their youth teams and was a longtime member of the APA Pool League. Reuben loved being in the outdoors and could many times be found fishing at his favorite spot on his brother’s pond. He loved his family and spending time with them, they will cherish many memories of weekend trips to the Casino in Oklahoma and spending many fun hours with his beloved grandchildren. They remember his love to cook for friends and family and how he was always ready for a barbeque. Reuben is remembered as a wise and giving man, loved and respected by all and was a mentor to many over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded by his parents and sister Mary “Pilly” Bush.

He is survived by his dedicated wife Linda Garcia of Ferris; children: Kenny Garcia of Ferris and Tabbetha and husband Albert Fernandez of Ferris; granddaughters: Mealita Garcia of Waxahachie and Maddy Fernandez of Galveston; sibling: Mary and husband Phil Ware of Carson City Nevada, Linda Ann and husband Barry Beeson of Venus, Johnny and wife Cathy Garcia of Ennis, Martin and wife Linda of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joe Garcia of Wilmer, Jessie Garcia of Wilmer, David Garcia of Ferris and Raymond Garcia of Hillsboro; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Ferris, Texas. Mask Required.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Green Funeral Home. Mask Required.

Interment will follow the service with a procession led by Reuben’s Truck “Big Red” to Ferris Memorial Park North.
