Mindy Linn Cuiksa, beloved daughter, sister, and mother, passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 35. Born in Dallas, Texas, on March 12, 1989, Mindy brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.
Growing up in Red Oak, Mindy was a graduate of the Red Oak High School Class of 2007. She then embarked on a journey that took her to Mansfield, Texas, where she worked alongside her father. Later, she ventured to Colorado, where she found fulfillment as a bookkeeper at Safeway. It was also there in Colorado where her prayer was answered & Elijah James made her a mommy.
Mindy was a dedicated and loving mother, and her family was her greatest source of pride and joy. Two years ago, she returned to Texas to prioritize her health and well-being, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to those she loved.
In her spare time, Mindy found solace and creativity in scrapbooking and crafting. She had a knack for T-shirt design and enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly tending to her chickens and feeding hummingbirds. Her infectious smile could light up any room, and her outgoing nature endeared her to all who crossed her path. Mindy had a deep passion for country music and cherished moments spent with her loved ones.
Mindy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter that will forever be cherished by her son, parents, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She is preceded by her grandfathers: Frank Cuiksa and Steve West, and grandmother Helen Cuiksa as well as her cousin Cody Lane.
Mindy is survived by her son Elijah James; mother Angi Ellis of Fort Worth, Texas; father Michael Cuiksa and Cheryl of Salida, Colorado; siblings: Tiffany Cuiksa of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Candice White and Cody of Las Vegas, Nevada, Emily Cuiksa of Salida, Colorado, and Layla Cuiksa of Salida, Colorado; as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.
