Mark Anthony Garza Sr

Mark Anthony Garza, Sr., age 52 was born November 29, 1971 in Waxahachie, Texas. He bid farewell to this world on March 10, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, cherished son of Arcadio Garza Sr. and Selia (Olivares) Garza and the youngest among his five siblings. A graduate of Ferris High School, Class of 1990, Mark embarked on a diverse career, initially as a dragline operator before transitioning into welding. For many years, he dedicated his skills and hard work to Hanson, now Forterra Pipe. Not only a dedicated professional, Mark served as the Fire Captain for the Bristol, Texas Volunteer Fire Department, exemplifying his commitment to community safety for a decade. Mark found joy in the exhilaration of riding his motorcycle and the art of competitive grilling. Known for his tough exterior, he revealed a caring and gentle nature to those fortunate enough to know him well. Mark was a true friend without hesitation, always willing to lend a helping hand or give the shirt off his back. In the hearts of those who knew him, Mark Garza will be remembered as a serious individual until comfort allowed his warm and compassionate side to shine through. His legacy is one of strength, kindness, and unwavering friendship. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father Arcadio Garza, Sr.; brother Arcadio Garza, Jr.; and daughter Jazmine Garza. He is survived by wife Jessica Garza of Red Oak, Texas; daughter Gloria and husband Steven LaBaw of Ennis, Texas; daughter Raquel Garza of Ferris, Texas; son Mark Garza, Jr., of Kaufman, Texas; and daughter Mia Garza of Red Oak, Texas; mother Selia Garza of Ferris, Texas; brother Guadalupe Garza of Ferris, Texas; brother Michael and wife Lilia Garza, Sr., of Red Oak, Texas and sister Irma and husband Jose Gutierrez of Ferris, Texas.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2024 at Green Funeral Home Ferris, Texas.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Ferris, Texas.
Interment will follow at Ferris Memorial Park North Ferris, Texas.
