Lesa Jo Showalter, age 70, of Dallas, passed away on March 1, 2024. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Walter and Kitty Josephine (Nesmith) Almond. She attended and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972. After high school she started her family and began working for Aafes. She later met and married her husband, Lewis Showalter. Lesa’s is known for her loving nature and was an incredible mother to her two children. She gave them everything and worked hard to make sure they didn’t want for much. When she wasn’t working or with her children you could often find her watching true crime documentaries, Yellowstone, Survivor and the Voice, or her husband’s favorite, Gun Smoke. She enjoyed reading in her spare time. Lesa had a heart for animals with her favorite pets being Frito and Harley. She really enjoyed being around family for the holidays. Although she couldn’t make the dream come true, she dreamed of moving to San Antonio with her family. She will be missed and loved by all those that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Kitty (Nesmith) Almond and her mother-in-law Mozelle Reed.
She is survived by her husband Lewis Showalter; children: Jason Reed and wife Mary Beth of Arlington, Texas, and Crystal Reed and husband Armando Leos of Dallas County; grandchildren: Devon, Caitlyn, Shelby, Alyssa, and Jayden; as well as her lifelong best friend Lena Cline.
