Jere Lynn (Freeman) Cookson

 Jere Lynn Cookson, age 66 of DeSoto, Texas passed away March 26, 2022. For everyone who knew her, she was truly larger than life. She approached things with a childlike wonder and was always willing to listen and dole out timeless advice to those that would listen, even if they didn't like what she had to say. Jere played the piano and the organ with both grace and mastery, giving her sons a love of music that has continued to the generation that they have parented. The light that Jere Cookson shined on everyone around her gave them the permission and the belief that they could be themselves. This light was so bright at times there were no shadows that you could hide in from her love. She was a great woman, a tough woman and a loving woman. She will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived and will be remembered fondly by her two remaining siblings: Jeff and Janice; her sons: Scott and Darin;  her grandchildren: Ryan, Kael, Hope-Lynne Skaggs, Victoria Renee, Garrett-Thomas, Faith-Nichole Skaggs, Austin-Taylor Skaggs, River-Hayden Skaggs, and countless friends. 

A private memorial is planned for a later date.
