Janice Sue (Hester) Wooten age 85 of Seagoville, Texas passed away February 28, 2022. She was born September 21, 1936 in Waxahachie, Texas to the late Van Leroy and Ina Adele (Jones) Hester. Her parents were farmers and she began working at an early age. She later met and married the love of her life John D. Wooten, Sr on December 7, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma. Janice accepted the call to ministry in the mid 1970’s at the age of 40. She established Divine Life Ministries; preaching to folks far and wide. They later built a church and established a congregation that filled every parking space and pew. She hosted ministers from all over the world: Africa, India, just to name a few. Although she was known internationally she did spend time in the Bahamas ministering. She was a beautiful woman, always dressed impeccably with her hair and jewelry always on point. Janice was also known for her cooking and could never make enough fried chicken. She loved and was loved by many, having numerous adopted grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and grandson Jeffrey, great granddaughter Angelica, great great granddaughter Rousely.
She is survived by her children: Pennye and husband Terry Wilkerson, Pamela and husband Eric Anderson and John D. Wooten, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak, Texas. Chaplin Lupe Salazar officiating.
