Jacob Layne Murphy, age 30, was born April 29, 1993, in Irving, Texas, and left this world on March 6, 2024. A prodigy, Jacob graduated at the age of 16, earning admiration as a genius among many. He was the beloved son of Clint L. and Lea Colette (Jones) Murphy. Throughout his life, Jacob was a entrepreneur, owning multiple businesses. His drive and commitment to his ventures defined him, having worked in construction and as a cell phone tower climber. A versatile individual, Jacob also remembered as a star baseball player. Beyond his professional achievements, Jacob had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. Jacob loved building and riding motorcycles. He found joy cooking in the kitchen and his humor, generosity, and love made him a cherished friend to many. Jacob's compassion extended to helping others, even strangers, ensuring they had access to food. An avid animal lover, Jacob's heart belonged to his pitbull companions—Lex, Sam, and Bella. Jacob's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his parents Clint and Lea Murphy of Red Oak, Texas; brother Charles Cullum of Lancaster, Texas; nephew Colten Michael Cullum; sister Christy and husband Daniel Mayo of Chocowinity, North Carolina; niece Carolyne Mayo; beloved girlfriend Crystal Hall; grandmother Barbara Jones of Red Oak, Texas; and a large extended family of uncles, aunt, cousins and dear friends.
