Felipe H. Munoz

Felipe H. Munoz, age 79, of Seagoville, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was born on Monday, May 26, 1941 in the Rio Grand Valley of Texas to the late Jesus Munoz, Sr. and Lorenza Herrera. He later made his way to the Seagoville area. While picking cotton one day, he met the love of his life Maria T. Garza. They were married on January 22, 1966, recently celebrating 55 years together. Felipe loved his family, friends and especially his grandchildren; always having a Big Red and a conversation or joke ready. The memories of his younger years dancing as a young man and his generous laughter and singing around the house will be treasured. He worked as a custodian for the Wilmer/Hutchins ISD before his retirement in 2004. Felipe enjoyed many trips visiting his family and friends in the Rio Grand Valley, or short trips to the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma, or Bingo games and was always just as happy with his favorite scratch offs; he was a dedicated fan to the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and  WWE Wrestling. He enjoyed many hours working outside in the yard, mowing and tending to his garden. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Maria T. Munoz; parents; three siblings: Simone Munoz, Jesus Munoz, Jr. and Juana Castillo.

He is survived by children: Dora L. and husband Alberto Rios of Wilmer, Rosa M. and husband Ismael Perez of Seagoville, Rene M. Munoz & Ma Del Carmen Arvizu of Red Oak, Matilde Munoz and husband Ignacio Hernandez of Lancaster, Jose J. Munoz of Seagoville, Carlos and wife Rachel Munoz of Mesquite and Christopher L. and wife Alma R. Munoz of Lancaster; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; siblings: Lydia Munoz, Selsa Mirelez, Carmen Mendez, Lorenzo Munoz, Maria Gomez, Gumicindo Munoz and Sylvia Munoz; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, March 5, 2021 with Rosary at 6:30 PM at Green Funeral Home, Ferris, Texas. MASK REQUIRED.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, Ferris, Texas. Deacon Jose Muniz, Celebrant. MASK REQUIRED.

Interment will be 12:30 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville, Texas.
