In Loving Memory of Willie Patino: A Life of Love, Adventure, and Warmth
Willie Patino, born March 24, 1944, to Manuel and Eutimia (Soto) Patino, in Fort Worth, Texas, lived a life full of love and purpose. He passed away on August 25, 2023, at age 79, leaving behind a legacy of memories and devotion. From his youth at Technical High School to an associate degree in business after his Air Force journey, Willie radiated dedication and a zest for life. Eight years as an Air Force vehicle operator unveiled his love for travel, shaping his destiny. Post-service, Willie embraced life as a highway traveler and trucker, journeying across the nation's roads for 54 years. Canada's beauty and Montana's grandeur held his heart, fueling his love for the road. His renowned work ethic, honed since his days at the stockyards at age 13, and his many years on the road earned him the endearing nickname "The Living Atlas." The Texas heat was his companion and water held a special appeal for Willie – in his free time, he loved to swim, and spend time deep-sea fishing off Galveston's coast. With his soulmate Vivian, he raised 9 children, a love story that blossomed from their first encounter at a feed store. Willie loved his family and anything sweet brought boundless joy to Willie- he was always sure to show his love and affection by filling his grandchildren’s tiny pockets with sweet treats. At his core, Willie loved his cats, loved reading western novels, and spending time tinkering on mechanical equipment. An avid woodworker, in his free time, he loved to craft cedar frames that showcased Vivian's artwork. A traveler, dreamer, father, grandfather, partner, and friend – his legacy is one of a dedicated family man and provider. Rest in peace, Willie; your legacy is etched in our hearts.
