James Troy Richards, age 59 of Red Oak, Texas passed away October 10, 2021. He was born November 3, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to the late Wallace and Edna Frances (Chapman) Richards. He grew up in Cedar Hill, Texas until moving to Red Oak, Texas some 30 years ago. He met and later married the love of his life Tina Dingler on Valentine’s Day, 1992; this union was blessed with two children. Troy was a mechanic, working on various types of motors and machines over the years; working on cars, trucks and anything else he could tinker with. He enjoyed fishing, but his passion was at the dirt track as a builder and driver. He and his family were at the 85 speedway in Ennis, Tx nearly every Saturday night. He is remembered for being very funny yet stubborn and hardheaded at times. A very honest individual, he always told things like they were and would always let you know if he didn’t like some thing and was always ready to express his opinion. Troy was generous to a fault and loved the Lord. He and Tina were members of Grace Temple Baptist church more than 20 years. He loved all of his animals, including his favorite chickens, goats and rabbits. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Joyce Hill and sister Regina Williams.
He is survived by loving wife Tina Richards of Red Oak; son James Dillon Richards of Red Oak; daughter Lisa Christine Richards of Red Oak; sister Francis and husband Jerry Reeves of Cedar Hill; brother Wallace and wife Judy Richards of Duncanville; sister Margie and husband Billy Jack Davis of Waxahachie; as well as numerous nieces nephews and other extended family members and close friends.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Big O Speedway, Ennis, Texas. Pastor Eddie Minor officiating.
