Trina Smith Obituary

Trina Smith, age 62 of Red Oak, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020. She was born in July of 1957 in Dallas,Texas to the late Leonard Pierce and Jane Ruth (Crouch) Lindley. At the age of 12 she and her family moved to Red Oak, Texas, where she called home ever since. She later met the love of her life, Skeeter Smith. They were married March 4, 1983 in Lancaster, Texas. Together they loved to travel and shared many memories of seven cruises, especially of her favorite destination, the Bahama Islands. Trina never met a stranger and is remembered as being a mother to all. Providing encouragement, advice and a safe space to many children and young adults over the years and hosted many foreign exchange students in their home. Known for her strongly opinionated nature, she was also extremely charitable to others, even strangers in need, willing to go without to make sure others had plenty. She loved to sew and quilt and decorate her home extravagantly at Christmas time. She is deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dwain Lindley.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Thomas H. "Skeeter" Smith; beloved children: Scott Smith of Red Oak and Tiffany and husband Lee Meyers of Red Oak; cherished grandchildren: Lee Jr., Cheyenne and Cindy; brothers: L. P. and wife Michelle Lindley Jr., of Peel, Arkansas and Lloyd and wife Jackie Lindley of Garland; numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately call her Aunt T; as well as other extended family and friends.

There will be an open visitation, not to exceed 10 persons at a time, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Green Funeral Home in Ferris, Texas.

The family will hold a private funeral service with burial to follow at the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
