Thomas Edward Scott, age 92 of Red Oak, Texas passed away June 1, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1932, to Cass and Ruth (Logan) Scott. After completing his education, Thomas trained as a welder and enjoyed working with metal throughout his life. After retirement as a welder, he worked for Sam’s Club and later found joy greeting and ushering fans at Texas Rangers games, a role that perfectly suited his love for the Rangers and his unfiltered enthusiasm for the sport. In his younger years, Thomas loved to bowl and participated in several leagues. He also had a green thumb and took great pride in his yardwork, gardening, and working in his greenhouse. A quiet and reserved man (except when it came to cheering on the Rangers), he was known for his honesty, always telling it like it was. Thomas was always involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews, whether helping a nephew get glue for a model car or simply being the best all-around Uncle. He was a generous giver, and is remembered as a constant presence at family functions. He also enjoyed leather-working; crafting purses, wallets, and belts with skill and care. A fan of all sports, Thomas rarely missed a game on TV, and classic country music was a constant companion. Thomas’s kindness, loyalty, and unwavering support of his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cass and Ruth Scott; brothers: Carl Scott and Cyrus “Rusty” Scott.
He has survived by his sister Shirley Sykes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Red Oak Cemetery -Red Oak, Texas.
