Terry Alan Dobbins, 67, of Waxahachie, passed away on May 6, 2026. Terry was born on October 9, 1958, in Weatherford, and spent his childhood years in Duncanville, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. He attended Duncanville schools and proudly played fullback on the football team before graduating from Duncanville High School in 1977. After graduation, Terry began a career in finance before following his entrepreneurial spirit and owning his own auto insurance company, and then subsequently working as an independent internet provider. For more than 30 years, he dedicated himself to serving others through his work. Terry met the love of his life, Jeanette Farris, through a mutual friend, and the two were married on August 1, 1981. Together they built a life filled with love and devotion. Nine years later, they welcomed their son, who became one of Terry’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments. Terry never met a stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Known for his positivity, generous heart, and larger-than-life personality, Terry regularly reached out to friends and loved ones just to check in and make sure they were doing well. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith touched countless lives. He was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and a proud father whose greatest happiness came from the people he loved. Outside of work and family, Terry embraced life fully. He loved playing golf, dove hunting in West Texas, and traveling to Colorado, especially the mountain town of Lake City. He was also a huge sports fan and especially loved the Dallas Cowboys. Terry never missed a game and looked forward to spending Sundays watching football with friends. Terry was also a devoted animal lover and had many dogs he adored deeply. Terry will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his steadfast faith, and the genuine love he shared with everyone around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrna Dobbins, his grandmothers Inez Dobbins, and Juanita Crelia, his uncles, Donald Dobbins, Mack Dobbins, and Pat Dobbins, and his aunts Jane, Janette, and Barnita.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Dobbins, his son Troy Dobbins, his father Lynn Dobbins and his wife Carol Sue, his brother Steve Dobbins, and his brother-in-law Jason, his sister-in-law Jennifer Poblete, and brother-in-law Steve Poblete, his aunt Nelda Howton, and his uncle Eddie Howton, as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.
