In April of 1984 the family boarded a small fishing boat to make their way to the United States. Their journey took them to Japan, the Philippines and on June 6, 1985, they arrived in the US. The family settled in Modesto, California and eventually on to the Dallas, Texas area with other family members. She loved being a mother and was an adoring grandmother, always wishing to be surrounded by her family. She was a nurturing, caring, and giving woman who loved to cook and could crochet almost anything like socks, hats, scarves and her favorite: baby clothes. She loved children and always gravitated to them, often adopting new family members along the way. Her family will miss her traditional banh tet at the Lunar New Year, but they will always treasure the fond memories. She is preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings.
