Suzanne "Momma" (Alderson) Wright

Jeannette Suzanne (Alderson) Wright, age 70 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away August 14, 2024. She was born November 22, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico to A.G. Alderson and Marjory Louise Stratton. After completing her education Suzanne married and began raising her family, dedicating herself to her five children. Her commitment to her family extended beyond her own children as she opened her heart and home to raise others who needed her care. Later in life she completed her Licensed Vocational Nurse, LVN, through Hill College. Suzanne was a nurturer at heart, always giving and putting her family first. She was a skilled seamstress, crafter, and gardener, known for her beautiful quilts, baby blankets, and the comfort she brought to those around her. Although she was not particularly known for her cooking, her biscuits were amazing. Her children fondly remember the comfort of laying their heads in her lap as she lovingly rubbed their heads, always smelling good and radiating love. Suzanne's sense of humor and adventurous spirit are cherished in memories like the family trip to Roswell to retrieve her birth certificate and the time they flushed a puzzle down the toilet when the last piece was missing. Suzanne had a love for travel, often visiting New Mexico, Mississippi, and Arizona. One of her most memorable adventures was a family trip to Ireland and London, experiences she treasured. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents A.G. and Marjory Alderson; sister Cheryl Jane, brother Johnny Alderson, sister Jeannie, brother David Hope, sister Angel Faith and grandson Kevin Ray Bailey.
She is survived by son Jerry David Duran, Jr. and wife Rachel, G. Michael and wife Jennifer Duran, daughter Amy Elizabeth and husband John Ford, son Joncarl Colt Duran and son Aaron Heath and wife Kimberly Duran; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her loving companion Ed “Ebo” Thomas; brother Henry Alderson; father of her children Jerry David Durant, Sr.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Green Funeral Home 105 Vintage Dr. Red Oak, Texas 75154
