Steven Murray Obituary

Steven Rodney Murray, 67 of Ennis, TX passed away peacefully on Oct 26th, 2024, in his home.

Steven Murray was born in Modesto, CA to Morris and Gladys Murray on Sept 9th, 1957. In his 20’s he grew close to Kenneth Walsh who he had met at a bar; years later he became like a 2nd father figure in his life. Steve went to Hollywood High School in Hollywood, CA. After high school, he began his career as an auto mechanic; in his time of being a mechanic he met John Gray and they became close friends, even calling each other brothers. He then went into professional driving: tow trucks, 18-wheelers, and school buses. He retired as a school bus driver from Ennis ISD.

Steve met the love of his life, Vicky, in 1991 at a bowling alley. Steve and Vicky married in August of 1992. In January of 1993, they welcomed their first child, Trevir Dustin-Hill Murray. In October of 1994, they welcomed their daughter, Felicia Marie Lynn Murray. Steven and Vicky spent 32 wonderful years of marriage together.

Steve spent his free time going to bars to play pool, darts, and sing karaoke. He enjoyed playing card games with the family; Phase 10 was his favorite and he was very competitive. He loved giving lawn mower and motorcycle rides to his kids and then later grandkids. He loved bowling with family and friends; he was even on a bowling league.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother, father, Kenneth, and sister Sherryl.

Steve is survived by his wife, Vicky Murray; son Trevir Murray and his wife Mahala Murray; daughter Felicia Manley and her husband Thomas Manley; his 6 grandkids: Allie, Noah, Gracie, Sarah, Rylee, and Isaac; his brother Russel Murray, and his sister Rose Bushnell.
