Shirley Joan Hart age 87, of Irving, Texas passed away quietly in her sleep August 21, 2025. She was born November 26, 1937, in Clovis, New Mexico to Powel and Jaunita Boydstun. Shirley was raised on the family farm with her three sisters and brother. She loved attending Church; her last membership was with 1st Methodist Church of Irving Texas. She grew up loving and playing softball. In later years she enjoyed watching soccer with the other soccer moms and on TV. A graduate of Clovis High and attended McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. While attending college and working at the local Pharmacy/Soda Fountian, Shirley met and later wed Robert Glyndale Hart in 1958. They went on to have three children. Shirley worked in accounts and receivables for Volvo White Trucks for over 20+ years and then Smitt Garret till retiring. She was a proud Avon Lady representing and selling Avon for 30 to 40 years. Her work ethic. independence and determination were admired by all who knew her. Outside of her work she loved to play the board game Pollyanna. She was a lucky dice roller but never a gambler. She would always plant tomatoes, okra and pansies every year. She was always in charge of the family trips. She loved to take a road trip to see new sights and old houses. She loved all of the pets she had through the years. Sam a cat was her last pet, who is now with Andy her youngest son for the last 5 plus years. While living with her daughter Lori, she took comfort and companionship with Lori's dog Toby, the cat Fred (who passed away in Dec 2023) and the 2 cats Kelly and Gracie. She is truly missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Glyndale Hart; eldest son Phillip Layne Hart; elder sisters Patricia Goodnight and Barbara & James Timmons; younger brother Donald Boydstun; her In laws Ira & Anna V Hart. Shirley is survived by her children daughter Lori and husband Anthony Stinson and youngest son Andrew Hart and Phillip's widow Teresa Hart; sister Beverly and husband Gary Lockmiller; sister Patricia's husband JR Goodnight; sister in law Sharon Boydstun; along with her goddaughter Erica and husband Patrick Beaumont; as well as other extended family members and dear friends.
Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Green Funeral Home in Red Oak, Texas. Minister Al Tavengo officiating.
