Shannon Rhea Trammell, age 62 of Red Oak, Texas passed away March 14, 2025. She was born February 18, 1963 in Waco, Texas to Bobby Ellis Trammell and Victra Deweyitta Camp and was a lifelong resident of the Dallas, Texas area. From a young age, Shannon displayed extraordinary talent in gymnastics. In high school, she emerged as an Olympic hopeful, training with dreams of competing in the 1980 Summer Olympics—a goal cut short by injury. Unable to pursue her own athletic ambitions, she transformed her passion by training others. In Irving, Texas she co-founded Kindergym, a gym that nurtured young talent. Shannon was a homemaker where she raised her sons with the goal of instilling in them the values of hard work, independence, and tenacity. Later, she served as an event planner and coordinator, bringing her organized focus and energy to every project she undertook. Shannon had a green thumb that brought her garden to life with her favorite plants and flowers—bluebonnets among them. Her love for landscaping was evident in the windmills and bird houses that filled her backyard. Always working toward her next project, she had plans to add a pond to her property—a testament to her creative vision and love of nature. Shannon was an avid collector of Mickey Mouse memorabilia, her love for the iconic character was no doubt sparked during a memorable visit to Disneyland in 1987, and her collection grew to be a cherished part of her identity. She found joy from the challenge of jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and home improvements executed with her characteristic determination and independence. Shannon began every morning with the comforting words of her favorite televangelists, that underscored her steadfast faith. Known for her strong opinions and unwavering honesty, Shannon was a woman who always spoke her mind. Her determination and stubbornness were matched only by her deep commitment to ensuring a better life for her sons. Her life was a blend of hard work, creativity, and commitment to her values—a true reflection of her unyielding spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Victra Trammell.
She is survived by her four sons: Kelly and wife Tonya Eastham of Rogers, Arkansas, Trever Hicks of Denton, Texas, Trey Hicks of Red Oak, Texas and BuddyRay Hicks of Red Oak, Texas; sisters: Judy and husband Larry Brown of Mabank, Texas and Debra Trammell of Kennedale, Texas; and dedicated family friend Richard Seaton.
