Saundra Sue Ellis, age 82 of Red Oak, Texas passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Saundra was born on September 11, 1942 in Weatherford, Texas and grew up in Arkansas City, Kansas where she graduated high school. In Longview, Texas she met the love of her life, Robert D. Ellis on a blind double date. Their whirlwind romance led to marriage just two weeks later during their lunch breaks on October 4, 1974. A testament to the love and devotion that would define their 50 year marriage and life together. Saundra worked side by side with her husband for 27 years at Stenco et al, Inc. in Red Oak, Texas. Despite her many contributions to the workplace, it was her role as a homemaker that she cherished most. Known affectionately as “Granny,” Saundra brought warmth and creativity into everything she touched. A gifted crafter, Saundra spent countless hours crocheting, sewing, and creating intricate needlework. She loved antique shopping, finding joy in trips to Canton, Texas where she sought out treasures such as antique toys, lead crystal clocks, gingerbread boy collectibles, and baby chick-themed items. Saundra had a true gift for decorating the most beautiful Christmas trees, meticulously placing handmade ornaments and finishing them with hand-strung tinsel icicles that sparkled with love. Saundra’s legacy is one of devotion, creativity, and love for her family and friends. She is deeply missed and will be forever remembered for her kind heart and the joy she brought into every room she entered.
