Ruben Popoca

Ruben Popoca, age 32, of Lancaster, Texas passed away July 29, 2022. Born in Mexico to Juvenal Popoca and Maria Josefina Fernandez on August 20, 1989, he was one of seven children. The family moved around a lot, finally settling in Red Oak, Texas in the mid 1990’s. He grew up and attended Red Oak schools. Having a lot of talent, he played football and basketball and could often be found skateboarding. He was a laid-back jokester who just kind of went with the flow never wanting to be the center of attention. He had a gift for cooking and loved to serve friends and especially his family. He had a special love of tomatoes. He is fondly remembered by his good heart no matter what life threw at him. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Ruben is preceded in death by his father Juvenal Popoca and his grandparents.

He is survived by his daughter Rosalie Popoca; mother Maria Josefina Fernandez; loving companion April Grubbs of Kaufman, Texas; siblings: sister Avelina Popoca Cepeda and husband Matt Patek of Eustace, Texas, sister Rosa Diaz and husband Oscar of Red Oak, Texas,  sister Margarita Popoca and husband Emanuel Torres of Waxahachie, Texas, brother Jose Popoca of Eustace, Texas, sister Samantha Popoca and husband George Uribe, brother Cezar Popoca; grandmother Maria Leopolda Perez Cuebas of Waco, Texas; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Green Funeral Home Ferris, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Green Funeral Home Ferris, Texas.
