In his twenties, he began working for Lasco where he would go on to dedicate over 40 years of hard work, building a respected career for himself. He met the love of his life, Darlane Marie Alfred, and together they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage. Robert was a devoted son, a loving husband, a proud father, and a cherished grandfather. His booming voice and infectious laugh could light up any room, and he had a rare gift for making people feel welcome. He became a father figure and friend to many, always offering guidance, humor, and a helping hand. He had a passion for travel, especially to tropical beach destinations. Among his favorite places were Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, where he found peace by the ocean he had loved since childhood. A true sports enthusiast, Robert proudly cheered on his favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, and Texas Rangers. He also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. Robert shared his love of sports by teaching his children to play soccer, creating memories that will be treasured forever. A self-proclaimed foodie, Robert found joy in cooking and sharing meals with those he loved. He was known for his flavorful dishes, especially his chorizo and eggs, lasagna, and hearty breakfasts.
