Rickey Evans Obituary

Rick E. Evans, age 68 of Red Oak, Texas passed away July 8, 2022. He was born May 2, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to the late Robert Lee and Mary Ann (Sims) Evans. He grew up in Lancaster, Texas playing the drums in band before graduating from DeSoto high school in 1973. He later began work as a machinist; he was a natural leader, hard working and determined. Rick met the love of his life Ginny Tharp in 2002. He had a great sense of humor, but was known to be a bit stubborn at times. He didn’t love to travel because it wasn’t a vacation if he had to drive. He loved his children and was the best dad, always making sure his children were ok and that they felt loved and cared for. Rick could often be found cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and drinking a Dr Pepper or watching one of his favorite sci-fi or action movies; tv was always a great escape for him. He is remembered for always helping others, giving his best, putting others first and forgiving to a fault. He was an inspiration and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Ann Evans and one brother.

He is survived by wife Ginny Tharp of Red Oak; son Rickey and wife Emily Evans of Plano, daughter Christy and husband Bryan Perry of Commerce, daughter Alexis Evans of Red Oak and son Eric Evans; grandchildren: Ariel, Reece, Jonathan, Remi, Tristin, Christian and Daisy.
