Raymond L Fulton

Raymond Leslie Fulton was born August 1, 1928, to Pearl and Sammie Fulton in Ferris, Texas. He passed away September 20, 2021, at home in Corsicana, Texas.

He was a Ferris High School graduate and attended North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington, Texas, where he played center on the football team. He married Patsy Toomey on September 27, 1946 and lived in Ferris most of their married life. They moved to Corsicana in 1999 to be near their only child. Raymond was president of the administrative board and taught Sunday school at the First United Methodist Church in Ferris, where he was baptized, confirmed, and served for many years. He also was president and president emeritus of Ferris Memorial Park cemetery.  He started at an early age giving to Cal Farley’s Boys Town and the Methodist Children’s Home. Raymond retired from Sanger Harris department store in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cooking Sunday dinner for his family.  He and Patsy were their grandchildren and great grandchildren’s biggest fans at every sporting event and other activity.  He loved spending time in his workshop and was a talented craftsman. Daddy Raymond could fix anything.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 71 years, Patsy Toomey Fulton. Also gone before him are his sister, Peggy Jo Fulton, brother and sister-in-law, Charles Neal and Nell Fulton, sister-in-law, Carolyn Fulton, and many other friends and family members.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia Ray and Dr. Neal Green, grandson and wife, Neal Green, Jr., and Laura, grandson Phillip Green, and granddaughter and husband, Leslie and Eric Pomeroy. Great grandchildren are Neal Green III, Libby Green, and Nathan Pomeroy. Surviving brothers are Robert Fulton and Billy Tom Fulton and wife, Shirley. Raymond loved his nieces, nephews, cousins, and his sister-in-law, Theresa Toomey.

An outdoor traditional funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, at the Ferris Memorial Park North cemetery.

Pallbearers are Neal Green, Jr., Neal Green III, Libby Green, Phillip Green, Leslie Pomeroy, Eric Pomeroy.  Honorary pallbearer:  Nathan Pomeroy
