Ramon Sanchez Garcia

Ramon S. Garcia, known as “Mone”, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 7, 2022, at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie, Texas. He was born October 7, 1935, in Poth, Texas, located southeast of San Antonio.  He married the love of his life, Oralia Lerma, on July 25, 1955, in Mission, Texas, and settled in Ferris, Texas. They shared 66 beautiful years together and had 10 beautiful children. Ramon spent over 50 years being a truck driver and picked cotton as a child at an early age. He enjoyed gambling at the casinos, watching western movies, wearing his cowboy hats and deer hunting with his family and friends. He loved sitting on his front porch smoking his Marlboro Lights and watching who would come and go in the area known as “the hill”. Ramon will be remembered as being humble, down to earth, a jokester, and the life of the party. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with all his grandchildren. His memory will remain in the heart of everyone that loved and knew him.

Garcia; sisters: Elisia “Lillie” (Santos) Trevino; Maria Sanchez Garcia; Guadalupe “Lupe” Trevino, sister-in-law Gracie Garcia ( wife of Adolfo Garcia); sons: Ramon Garcia Jr.; Rene Garcia

He is survived by his wife: Oralia L. Garcia; brothers: Adolfo S. Garcia; Alberto S. (Mary) Garcia; Richard S. (Isabel) Garcia; Pedro “Peter” S. (Jeanie) Garcia; sisters: Rosa (Carlos) Fernandez; Olivia (Jose) Molina; Sister-in-law’s: Maureen Garcia (wife of Victor S. Garcia); Joan Garcia (wife of Rojelio Garcia) brother-in-law: Israel “Role” Trevino (husband of Lupe Trevino); daughter-in-law: Rosa Garcia (wife of Ramon Garcia Jr.) Sons: Reynaldo L. (Cindia) Garcia; Manuel L. (Beverly) Garcia; Robert L. Garcia; Rodolfo L. Garcia; Samuel L. (Nita) Garcia; Randy L. (Christabel) Garcia; Daughters: Dora Linda (Francisco) Rodriguez; Lisa Ann (Braulio) Porcayo; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and close friends.

Pallbearers are his grandsons: Reynaldo Garcia Jr, Samuel Garcia Jr, Christopher Garcia, Patrick Garcia, Jason Garcia, & Adrian Morales (great grandson) ; Honorary Pallbearer: Ramon Garcia III (grandson)

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Green Funeral Home, 207 S. Wood Street, Ferris, Tx 75125. Masks are encouraged by the family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, 111 N Wood St., Ferris, Tx 75125 with Reverend Timothy Gollob officiating. MASK REQUIRED by the Church.  

Interment will follow at the Ferris Memorial Park North Cemetery, 901 Ferris Rd, Ferris, TX 75125.
