Quartland Trotter, born on April 15, 1995 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on April 6, 2026. Quartland was a devoted son, brother, and friend whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love to everyone he encountered. Quartland graduated from Red Oak High School and went on to work as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement. He took pride in his work and always strived to handle things on his own before asking for help, showing both independence and determination. He will be remembered as kind, goofy, funny, and full of love for everyone in his life. Quartland had a passion for music, often writing and recording his own songs, and performing at a few venues throughout the DFW metroplex over the years. He also found joy in cooking and spending time with his family. His huge heart and genuine care for others made a lasting impact on all who knew him. Quartland is lovingly remembered by his father Estavion Trotter and step-mother Janice Trotter and his mother Lafonya Matthews; as well as his step-father Terry Matthews. He was blessed to be loved and supported by both households throughout his life, each playing an important role in shaping the man he became.
He leaves behind his sister Miriah Crenshaw of Dallas, Texas and his three brothers: Terrill Trotter of El Reno, Oklahoma, D’Mikel Trotter of McKinney, Texas, and Jordan Trotter of Red Oak, Texas; his step-siblings: Arterioius Morgan, Kierra Matthews, and Tenyia Matthews; grandmother Sandra Stevenson, (mother of Estavion Trotter), of Oak Leaf, Texas; grandmother Joyce Carter, (mother of Lafonya Matthews), of Fort Worth, Texas; grandfather Alfonzo Mack, (father of Lafonya Matthews); grandmother Norma Thompson, (mother of Janice Trotter); grandmother Ruth Jones, (mother of Terry Matthews); and grandfather Frankie Trotter.
Quartland is preceded in death by his grandfathers: Marcus Stevenson, (father of Estavion Trotter), Clifford Carter, (father of Lafonya Matthews), and Terry Matthews Sr., (father-in-law of Lafonya Matthews); beloved Aunt Gloria, who was a significant and cherished part of his life. He is also remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews who loved and supported him throughout his life, too many to name, but never forgotten.
Quartland’s life was a gift to everyone who knew him. His laughter, his music, and his love for others will never be forgotten. We will carry his memory with us in everything we do, honoring the beautiful person he was. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
