Phyllis Huddleston Obituary

Phyllis Jean Huddleston, age 67 of Rockett, Texas, passed away on October 9, 2025. She was born on January 27, 1958 in Roswell, New Mexico, to Cecil Doyle Huddleston, Sr. and Jeanne Dolores (Rowe) Huddleston. At a young age, her family moved to Tom Bean, Texas and later to Oak Cliff, Texas where she attended school. After completing her education, she began working alongside her sisters at a local pizza restaurant. Phyllis later married and began her family, dedicating her life to caring for those she loved. She worked as a seamstress and later advanced into management, spending over 20 years in the industry. She went on to work in various warehouse roles, including automotive parts, book distribution, and Toys “R” Us, before spending 12 years with Target, where she retired. Phyllis was giving and selfless, always willing to lend a hand or share what she had. She was a natural caregiver; loving, patient, and generous with her time and her heart. Those who knew her will remember her quick wit, her humor, and her knack for telling a great story. In her younger years, she was athletic and loved playing softball. In later years, she found joy in gardening; nurturing beautiful flowers and plentiful vegetables. She was passionate about cooking and loved preparing meals for family and friends, teaching many to cook along the way. Phyllis will be remembered as a woman of strength, humor, and boundless love; a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and friend who left her mark through kindness and laughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Cecil and Jeanne Huddleston; siblings: Cecil Huddleston, Jr; Debby Henderson and Cheryl Dilday.

She is survived by her son Glenn and wife Shelley McKeever; son Kenny and wife Jessica McKeever; five grandchildren: Kacy and husband Max, Robyn and husband Jeremy, Rachel, Landon and Emily; four great-grandchildren: Houston, Scarlett, Nathaniel and Ezekiel; siblings: Ruth Huddleston, Mike Huddleston, Paulette Huddleston and Annette Prince.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
