Paula Georgetta Torres, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away on August 20,
2024, at the age of 62. Born on November 7, 1961, Paula's vibrant spirit touched the lives
of everyone who knew her.
Paula’s life was defined by her boundless compassion and her ability to make every
moment special. She was a devoted aunt, taking in her sons James and Matthew, and raising them with the
same love and care she poured into everything she did. Known for her free-spirited nature,
Paula had a rare gift for putting others before herself, and her selflessness was a
cornerstone of her character.
Her battle with type 1 diabetes was lifelong, but Paula faced each challenge with
remarkable strength and resilience. Her curiosity and love for learning were insatiable—
she was always eager to understand more about the world around her and share her
discoveries with those she loved.
Paula’s zest for life was evident in her love for music, which she carried with her wherever
she went, often with her trusty boombox. Her home was always filled with the sounds of
her favorite tunes, and her remarkable culinary skills ensured that every gathering was
memorable. Paula was particularly known for her Thanksgiving coconut cake, a delicious
treat that became a beloved tradition in her family.
A great sister and a true friend to all, Paula never met a stranger. Her ability to connect
with people was unmatched, and her kindness extended to every creature she
encountered. She shared her home with multiple cats and dogs, each of whom was
cherished and adored.
In 2021, Paula relocated to Texas, bringing her warmth and vibrant personality to a new
community. Prior to that, she spent 20 wonderful years in Dawnville, Georgia, where she
and her husband, Victor, made a life filled with joy and love. Paula and Victor were united
in marriage on June 11, 2002, and their bond was a testament to the deep affection they
shared.
Paula Georgetta Torres was a shining light, and though her presence will be profoundly
missed, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those who had the privilege of
knowing her.
