Patsy Nowell Obituary

Patsy Ann Nowell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, in Aubrey, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on May 3, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, Pat was the daughter of Paul David King and Nancy Jean Cullum. She led a life full of love, adventure, and service to others, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pat’s nurturing spirit shone brightly through her many roles in life. She was a dedicated Cub Scout den mother and soccer coach for her sons, always eager to support and encourage the next generation. Her commitment to her community extended further when she became a volunteer firefighter and fire inspector, where she worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of those around her.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Pat had a variety of passions that enriched her life. A lover of nature, she adored bass fishing, birdwatching, and the beauty of cardinals and doves. She took great pleasure in knitting, making Afghans, needlepoint, and crafting, and she had a particular fondness for creating homemade Christmas stockings and ornaments that she lovingly gave to family and friends. Pat was a talented painter and enjoyed the calming activities of coloring and creating beautiful artwork.

Pat had a deep love for Germany, a country she visited with her husband, where they spent four years immersed in the culture and beauty of the land. She carried that love of travel with her throughout her life, often hopping in the car for a spontaneous road trip, embracing the joy of exploring new places. Whether on a grand adventure or simply playing board games or video games with her family, Pat found joy in every moment spent with loved ones.

Her compassion, patience, and unwavering love for her family and animals, especially the many cats she cared for throughout her life, left an indelible mark on those who knew her. Pat’s ability to listen and offer support, her easygoing nature, and her enduring love for her family made her a cherished presence in the lives of so many.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Paul “P.D.” and Nancy King; her grandmother Ruth “Muh” Cullum; and her son, Brian Paul Nowell.

She is survived by her loving husband Dub Nowell; her son, Keith & Claudia Nowell; and her two grandchildren, Gabriel and Michael Nowell.
