Patrick Arnold Mueller

Patrick Arnold Mueller, age 79 of Weatherford, Texas passed away July 12, 2021. He was born April 2, 1942 in Moulton, Texas to the late Arnold and Eulalia (Gurtner) Mueller. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he graduated high school and attended the University of Tulsa where he received his bachelors degree, later moving to Houston, Texas where he attended the University of Houston earning his law degree. He joined the US Army serving several years in Vietnam and later in Germany. Following his active duty he served in the US Army reserve in San Antonio, Texas then on to Nacogdoches, Texas where he began his private law firm. He later began teaching at the Stephen F. Austin State University where he met his dear Barbara, a fellow educator, both retiring 12 years ago. Together they loved traveling the southwest, enjoying trips to Chama, New Mexico and other beautiful destinations. His love of trains was further realized with an online train exploration and simulation program where he traveled many virtual miles. He was a voracious reader, studying many writers, Biblical commentarians and other sacred scholars. He was a great debater who loved conversation about many subjects, always investigating and willing to listen with an open heart and mind, learning about other’s views. He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Barbara Mueller of Weatherford; son Mark and husband Brian Lewin of Dallas; daughter Elisabeth and husband Olof Nylander of Jönköping , Sweden; Barbara’s loving children: Steve and wife Sonja Larison of Gordon, John and wife Ruth Larison of Houston, Diane and husband Andrew Diamont of Mount Selman and Denise and husband Randall Wilson of Tyler; seven adoring grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister Cordelia and husband Rodrick Rau of Colorado Springs, Colorado; lifelong friend Alan Pason; as well as other extended family members and friends. 

Memorial Service will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church Saturday July 24, at 12PM with interment at the DFW National Cemetery Friday July 30, at 11:30am
