Oralia Lerma Garcia, known as “Lali”age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 8, 2024, at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie, Texas. She was born on May 13, 1941, in Mission, Texas to Manuel Lerma and Victoria Solis. After her education, Oralia met and married the love of her life, Ramon S. Garcia on July 25, 1955 in Mission, Texas. They were happily married for 66 years. In 1956, they moved to Ferris, Texas where they built their lives together. They started their family and Oralia embraced her role as a devoted homemaker. Her family will cherish the memories of her delicious tamales and flour tortillas. Her strong faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a founding member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Ferris, Texas and was a longtime member of the choir. She found peace in visiting the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and attending various Catholic retreats. Music was a great source of comfort for Oralia, whether she was singing, listening, or humming a tune. Her resilience and strength were evident in all aspects of her life. No matter the challenge, medical, physical, or emotional she faced it with bravery and without complaint. Oralia's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren deeply and did everything she could to be there for them. She accompanied her husband on many journeys across the United States, her favorite destination being Las Vegas. A devoted reader of the Bible, Oralia found guidance in her faith. She also enjoyed sewing. She found beauty and fulfillment in the simple things. Her memory will remain in the heart of everyone that loved and knew her.
She is survived by her daughter in law Rosa Garcia (wife of Ramon Garcia Jr) of Dallas, Texas, son Reynaldo and wife Cindia Garcia of Ferris, Texas, son Manuel and wife Beverly Garcia of Ferris, Texas, son Robert L. Garcia of Ferris, Texas, daughter, Dora Linda and husband Francisco Rodriguez of Houston, Texas, Son, Samuel and wife Nita Garcia of Ferris, Texas, son, Randy and wife Christabel Garcia of Ferris, Texas, and daughter Lisa and husband Braulio Porcayo of Maypearl, Texas and sister Connie Hernandez of Mission, Texas ,22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel Lerma and Victoria Solis, husband, Ramon S. Garcia, and her sons Rene L. Garcia, Ramon L. Garcia Jr and Rodolfo, L. Garcia and also her siblings Ismael Lerma, Arturo Lerma, Luis Lerma, Jesus Lerma, Israel Lerma , Hilda Garcia & Ofelia Garcia.
Pallbearers are her grandsons Reynaldo Garcia Jr., Christopher Garcia, Samuel Garcia Jr., Patrick Garcia, Michael Garcia, Ricky Garcia
Honorary Pallbearers are Ramon Garcia III and Adrian Morales
The family is requesting that everyone wear clothing any shade of blue, please no black.
Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Green Funeral Home, 105 Vintage Dr., Red Oak TX 75154
