Norma Jacquelyn (Thomas) Watkins

Norma Jacquelyn Thomas Watkins-Hester, age 82, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at her home in Red Oak, Texas, following a battle with cancer.

She was born January 28, 1942 in The Bronx, New York. Norma was self-employed as a Real Estate Appraiser for over 30 years. She was active in several appraisal organizations. Norma, with her late husband, was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Edward Hester; her parents, Norma J. Thomas Preston and Ed Sailor; as well as several faithful canine friends including, Sugar, Mr. Ed, Lucy, Maggie, Angel and Lil’ Bit.

Norma is survived by her brothers: Alan Preston and Bill & Wendy Preston; her best friend, Kathy Thieme; a special cousin, Tony Carracio; numerous other cousins; five nephews; five nieces; several great-nephews and great-nieces; a host of dear friends, neighbors, co-workers; and her beloved dogs, Harley and Duber.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Norma’s ashes will be scattered as she requested during a private event.
