Nona Frances Dancer

Nona Frances Dancer, age 63 of Ferris, Texas passed away November 27, 2022. She was born September 9, 1959, in Odessa, Texas to the late Louie and Mary Louise (Frierson) Dancer. Nona graduated from Odessa High School, and later started working in a hospital as a medical secretary where she excelled due to her proficiency with details and organization. Later in life she attended college and received her Associates Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. In 2003 Nona moved to Ferris, Texas to be closer to her sister. 

 Though she grew up in a loving Christian household, Nona struggled with her physical and mental health. She had her personal struggles in life along with health issues that allowed her heart to open to the Lord Jesus and it changed her life.

 She was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church since 2012. There she sang in the choir and always sat in the Amen Corner. She loved to do home visits with the church and participated in other outreach ministries including Vacation Bible School. Her love for children was evident as she enjoyed helping with crafts and babysitting in the nursery every chance she could. Nona was very funny, chatty, often demanding, but always friendly. She never met a stranger and always kept in touch with her friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

 She is preceded in death by her parents Louie Dancer and Mary Louise Frierson; brother Lawrence Dancer; sister Rita (Dancer) Tribble; nephews Kevin Hudgins and Corey Dancer. She is survived by her sister Mary and husband Steven Offrell; sister-in-law Wendy Dancer; nieces and nephews: Brenda Robinson, Brandy Robinson, Ginger Williams, Taurean Hudgins, Larry Miles, Natasha Dancer, Brittany Moore, Kaylea Dancer, and Brianna King; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2022, at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Green Funeral Home Red Oak, Texas. Pastor Harold Wells officiating.
