Lee was preceded in death by his parents: Noble Lee Longino, Sr. and Mary Dean Longino; as well as by many cherished mentors who helped shape his life.
A lifelong servant to others, Lee dedicated 55 years as a licensed funeral director in the state of Texas. He began his career at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass and gained valuable experience working at several funeral homes before purchasing Green Funeral Home on September 15, 1975. He compassionately served families across the City of Ferris in their time of greatest need for nearly five decades.
In addition, Lee faithfully served on the Ferris I.S.D. Board of Trustees for over 40 years, demonstrating his unwavering love to the community. He was deeply invested in the growth and improvement of the district, advocating for enhanced educational opportunities and state-of-the- art facilities. In recognition of his lasting impact and heartfelt commitment, Ferris Intermediate School was renamed Lee Longino Elementary in 2021. Lee had a profound love for his town, its people, and the school district he served so passionately.
Above all else, Lee deeply loved his family. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a birthday celebration, a sporting event, or even just a phone call, he was always there, present and smiling. His joyful spirit and “I am doing just fine” mentality made every moment more meaningful. While his strength was something we all admired, it was Lee’s love that held our family together and has shaped the foundation of who we are. We are better, stronger, and closer because we had the privilege of knowing him.
Lee’s legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in all who knew him. Though he is gone, his spirit remains a guiding light for his family and community. We are forever grateful to have been loved by him.
