Nicolas Mendoza Silva, Sr.

Nicolas Mendoza Silva, age 64 of Lancaster, Texas, passed away February 12, 2021. Born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico to the late Cutberto and Francisca (Mendoza) Silva. Nicolas came to the states at the age of 14 with his brothers to work in construction, specializing in flooring. He worked from Wisconsin to Florida, Louisiana and finally to Texas in his early 20’s. At the age of 29, he met the love of his life Brenda Lee Bolton and asked to her to a dinner and movie date. They were married October 28, 1989. He enjoyed being with friends and family, never meeting a stranger. He was generous to those in need and was always willing to help others when he could. His jokes, laughter and the delicious foods he cooked: meat and potatoes, chili, salsa and burritos will be missed by all who knew him.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Antonio Silva and sister Lucia Silva.

He is survived by dedicated wife Brenda Lee Silva of Lancaster; children: Dora Gloria Silva of North Richland Hills, Nicolas Silva, II and wife Nelly Guzman of Lancaster, Francisca Nicole Silva of Lancaster and Bals Seas and wife Sandra Reyes of Desoto; grandchildren: Nicolas Silva, III, Brandon Zapata, Jason Zapata, Oalyah Seas, Skyla Seas and Matthew Seas; siblings: Lalo Silva, Sebastian Silva, Garcia Silva, Jose Silva, Francisco Silva, Mina Silva and Bony Silva as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. 

Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Ferris, Texas. MASK REQUIRED.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Green Funeral Home. Pastor Eddie Wiechman Officiating. MASK REQUIRED.

Interment to follow at the  Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, Texas.
