Mike Batchler, Sr.

Robert Michael "Mike" Batchler, Sr., age 74, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born October 30, 1946 to the late William and Earnestine (Hurst) Batchler in Dallas, Texas. A life long Ferris resident, he graduated Ferris High School. In his early 20's he began his career path as a Master Plumber and Electrician. He is remembered for being kind and helping the elderly around town, many times working without pay and going above and beyond the call of duty. Around Ferris, he owned and maintained the laundry mat and several rental properties for many years. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and all over the southwest, even getting lost in the Arizona dessert once. His passion included prospecting for gold on his claim in Silver City, New Mexico. He loved and missed his beloved chow Gwendolyn and jack russell Maddie, they were among many wonderful times and memories cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Donna K. Batchler of Ferris, children: Robert M. Batchler, Jr. of Ferris, Bobbi Batchler of Victoria and Jared Batchler of Ferris; a host of grandchildren; brother Bill and wife Linda Batchler of Ferris; nephews Wil Batchler and Matthew Batchler as well as other extended family members and friends.

The family will hold a private service.
