Michael Regan Obituary

Michael Alan Regan passed away February 18th, 2026 at the age of 60. Michael was born October 6, 1965 in Lincoln, Nebraska where he was raised and attended school. He was a veteran, proud of his service and accomplishments in the Air Force National Guard. He lived all across the west and called Dallas, Texas home for the last decade of his life. He had three children: Emily, Brandon and Tyler; two daughters-in-law: Sydney and Rachel; and three grandchildren. His family was the light of his life. He loved to travel, enjoyed spending time and talking with friends and finding little joys, such as a new recipe or art for his house. In his youth he loved literature and wrote many short stories and poems, and through life he carried a poet’s sensitive spirit. Michael faced the hardships in his life with an increase in humor and a gracious giving heart to others. He often tried to help those in need in whatever way he could. He was a friend to all and went out of his way to make others feel welcome or make them laugh. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he felt strongly about creating a safe and loving place for others and representing the rest of the community.

He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce; and his foster parents.

He is survived by his children and grandchildren; as well as the dear friends he always considered family.

The family would like to extend gratitude to those who cared for their father with their friendship and kindness throughout his life, and especially in the years preceding his death. A special thank you to the community and his neighbors at Greenbriar Place; and to Bryan Hunter and Tom Gosse, his close friends, for their assistance and support of Michael and the family during this time.

Per Michael’s request, the family will hold a private memorial.

In lieu of flowers, Michael would like his memory to be honored by donations to charity, or by planting a tree in his name.
