Matthew Yates Batchler

Matthew Yates Batchler, age 46, of Ferris, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born in Dallas, Texas to William Mutz and Linda Lee (Yates) Batchler, Jr. on January 13, 1975. A lifelong resident of Ferris, he was a happy child growing up, loved playing soccer and spending time with his friends. He graduated high school and attended Navarro college, later marrying his high school sweetheart. Matt loved music of all kinds with an extensive collection of records and CDs; he enjoyed and could sing almost any rock ‘n’ roll, country and hip-hop songs, yet appreciated and loved many classical music pieces, as well as KCBI Christian radio. From an early age he was an animal lover and loved the craziest of cats. He held them in high regard, adopting many over the years; especially his current and most beloved black cat Boo.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather; uncle Michael Batchler and aunt Vicky Stone.

He is survived by parents William M. and Linda L. Batchler, Jr. of Ferris; brother William M. Batchler, III of Waxahachie; aunt Janice Zimmerman of Frisco; grandmother Wanda Yates of Frisco; well as numerous cousins and other extended family members and dear friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 10, 2021 at Ferris Memorial Park North, Ferris, Texas. Doug Aday Officiating.
