Delgado, Jr Obit
Martin Delgado, Jr., age 57 of Red Oak, Texas passed away October 19, 2023. He was born January 2, 1966 in Waxahachie, Texas to Martin Delgado, Sr and Manuela Moreno. He attended school in Ferris, Texas and began work at an early age. He helped with farm work, bailing hay and later did construction of homes and other buildings, then truck driving; traveling the country coast-to-coast countless times for 14 years until his retirement. Martin loved playing billiards for fun and in tournaments; singing karaoke as well as watching football and baseball. He enjoyed singing country music, classic rock-and-roll and of course Elvis Presley was his favorite. His friendly nature and big heart made it easy for him to talk to folks who might be less fortunate or elderly and lonely. He could often be seen riding his bike to the park where he loved to just sit back and soak up the sun. His family enjoyed the lake life with him: fishing, camping and all kinds of outdoor fun. Indoors, he enjoyed watching old western movies, as well as his favorite movie Scarface and even going to the movies but sometimes falling asleep in the theater. his family will miss all of his dad jokes, as he was the king of corny jokes. They remember him waking them up early on Saturdays to go eat breakfast and recounted how on his way home, he would start honking from down the road to let them know he was almost home. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Martin Delgado, Sr., and Manuela Moreno, brother Johnny Delgado and brother-in-law Billy Scott.
He is survived by his children: Martin Delgado, III and wife Stefania of Ferris, Texas, Crystal Sarah Delgado of Watauga, Texas; mother of his children and love of his life Sonia Romero Ruiz of Watauga, Texas; three grandchildren: Layla Arreola, Bella Rivas and Martin Liam Delgado, IV; siblings: Robert Delgado of Palmer, Texas, Linda and husband Domingo Ocanas of Ferris, Texas, Olivia and husband Bill Coleman of Pleasant Grove, Texas, Esther Scott of Seagoville, Texas, Anita Delgado of Dallas, Texas and Yolanda Delgado of Dallas, Texas; his favorite white Shih Tzu,l Rosie and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and dear friends.
