Martha "Marty" Walker Willis, age 82 of Ferris, Texas, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. She was born September 10, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to Ira Orland and Johnnie Idell Way. She was considered by all as a woman of great faith and wisdom; full of strength and love.
Marty married her first love, Richard Walker in October 1958 and they established their homestead in Ferris, Texas in 1969 where they raised three children – Dianna, Cynthia, and Ricky. She was a devoted wife to Richard for 48 years until his passing in 2006.
One year later, Marty married Randall Willis, a devoted companion, who was by her side until her last breath. Randall lovingly describes her as a “true superstar with the heart of a boxer” – a tribute to her resilience and a nod to her father’s own days in the ring.
Marty was known by many as Gran and treated everyone like family. She will be remembered for her many talents and skills; a gifted painter, a competitive tennis player, and an avid gardener, to name a few. She was the business owner of Quilters Corner, where she inspired others through her gift of quilting and creativity. Her quilting skills and designs were detailed in her two published books - Mosaic Memories and Ladybug Nursery & Beyond. Her family and friends would say that her quilts felt like hugs, her gardens were bouquets of beauty, and in everything she honored God's inspiration.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Walker; parents Ira Orland and Johnnie Idell Way; brother Paul Way; and stepson Randy Willis.
She is survived by her husband, Randall Willis; daughters: Dianna Riffle and husband Tim, Cynthia Hamm and husband Steve; son, Ricky Walker and wife Alice; stepson Dan Willis and wife Deonna; stepdaughter-in-law Tracie Willis; many beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her first soon to be born great-great grandchild; sister, Sherry Westbrook; brother, Chris Way; and many other cherished family and friends.
