Mark Vaughan Larson, 65, of Ferris, TX passed away at Medical City Center in Dallas at approximately 7:00 am on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born in Chicago, IL on February 23, 1958 to Cleo Melvin Larson and Betty Jo’an (Vaughan) Larson of Ferris. He was the son of a “Coast Guard Family”. After several moves around the country while growing up, the family finally settled back in Ferris in 1971, where Mark graduated from Ferris High School in 1976.
Mark’s early career started out programming radios, phones and pagers alongside his cousin Mike at Comtex Communications. He later moved to Marcus Cable which transitioned to Charter Communications. He finally landed his job as a Sr. Business Systems Analyst with Americredit / GM Financial.
Mark loved to read, watch sci-fi movies, shooting guns, going 4-wheelin’, Hummer trucks, hanging with family and friends out at the ole homestead. And lastly, he loved his cat “Gato”; a little feral kitten that showed up one day and just flopped at his feet. She won him over with a purr and a meow.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and a host of aunts and uncles.
He is survived by wife Carmena Larson of Ferris, Texas; sister Kelly Larson of Waxahachie, Texas, Lori Woodard of Waxahachie, Texas; many cousins, as well as a plethora of extended and adopted family members and friends.
