Maria Guadalupe Huerta

María Guadalupe Huerta de Torres, de 95 años, de Wilmer, Texas, falleció el 14 de agosto de 2023. Nació el 24 de abril de 1928 en San Luis Potosí, México, hija de Eliseo Huerta y Felipa Torres. Después de su educación, comenzó a trabajar en la granja familiar atendiendo a los diferentes animales de la granja y luego comenzó a trabajar en la limpieza de los hoteles locales. Conoció al amor de su vida Filimon Torres cuando eran amigos de la infancia; más tarde se casaron y de esta Unión fueron bendecidos 10 hijos. Era una católica devota y siempre una persona muy feliz. Le encantaba cocinar para su familia y siempre disfrutó de la jardinería al aire libre. Ella será extrañado por todos los que la conocían.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres; esposo Filimón Torres; el infante Apolonio, el infante José y su hijo Álvaro Torres.

Le sobreviven sus hijos: Víctor Torres, Bonifacio Torres, Alfredo Torres, María Torres, Felipe Torres, Jesús Torres y Marina Torres; 30 nietos; numerosos bisnietos y tataranietos.

Maria Guadalupe Huerta de Torres age 95 of Wilmer, Texas passed away August 14, 2023. She was born April 24, 1928 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Eliseo Huerta and Felipa Torres. After her education she began working on the family farm tending to the different farm animals and later begin housekeeping with local hotels. She met the love of her life Filimon Torres when they were childhood friends; they were later married and to this Union was blessed 10children. She was a devout Catholic and always a very happy individual. She loved to cook for her family and always enjoyed gardening outside. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Filimon Torres; infant Apolonio, infant Jose and son Alvaro Torres. 

She is survived by her children: Victor Torres, Bonifacio Torres, Alfredo Torres, Maria Torres, Felipe Torres, Jesus Torres and Marina Torres; 30 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held at the family’s home beginning at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2023. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Parish Ferris, Texas.

Interment to follow at Trinity Cemetery Wilmer, Texas.
