Linda Kerr Obituary

Linda Florence Kerr, age 78 of DeSoto, Texas passed away October 18, 2023. She was born May 4, 1945 in Alton, Illinois to Frank and Florence (Johnson) Alexander. She attended school there in Alton, Illinois and later moved to Arlington, Virginia and then onto Springfield, Illinois where she worked for a life insurance company and played on the company bowling team. It was at a company bowling match where Mr. Michael Kerr, who also worked for the same company, filled in for one of her teammates. They later married on August 22, 1970; they were blessed with two children. Linda then became a homemaker but continued her love of bowling for many years, playing on numerous winning teams. Michael remembers a wonderful trip to Las Vegas in which they took an excursion to California to the Yosemite National Park. Memories of that trip have remained with her and Micheal ever since. They also enjoyed numerous trips to the WinStar casino in Oklahoma with her sister and brother-in-law. Linda was a great homemaker and an excellent cook. She was a friendly individual, but also quiet and reserved. When the children were young, she loved to get together with their neighborhood group where the men would play darts, the ladies would visit and their children all played together. The memory of her love for her husband, children, family and friends will be remembered forever and she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Florence Alexander; brother Dan Alexander; brother Gary Alexander and brother-in-law Ron Broyles.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Michael Kerr of DeSoto, Texas; daughter Barbara and husband Todd Lien of Pinehurst, Texas; son Jeffrey Kerr of Irving, Texas; three grandsons: Joseph and wife Callie Lien, Travis Lien and Brian Lien; and sister Marlene Broyles of San Antonio, Texas.
