Linda Lee (Yates) Batchler

Linda Lee (Yates) Batchler, age 75 of Ferris, Texas passed away March 5, 2023. She was born October 8, 1947 to Clarence Leon and Wanda Jean (Young) Yates in Denton, Texas. She graduated Denton High School, class of 1966 and married the love of her life Bill Bachelor, Jr. August 23, 1967. Linda attended East Texas State University, receiving her Bachelor's degree and later attended Texas Women’s University receiving her Master's degree in Library Science. Her career in education began as a Physical Education teacher, then she taught third grade about 15 years and then as a Ferris ISD Librarian for ten years. Linda was a very friendly person and never met a stranger. In the earlier years she enjoyed fishing on camping trips with her family. She loved being outdoors and gardening around her house; not always a green thumb, but she did enjoy her house plants. She never particularly enjoyed cooking, but she was a good at it and always kept her family fed. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Ferris, Texas. Linda will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her father Clarence Yates and son Matthew Yates Batchler and sister Vickie Stone.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband William M. "Bill" Batchler, Jr. of Ferris; son William M. Batchler, III and Erika Nunn of Waxahachie; mother Wanda Jean Yates of Frisco; sister Janice Zimmerman of Frisco and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the SPCA.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church Ferris, Texas.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church Ferris, Texas, Pastor Doug Aday officiating.

Interment will follow at 12:00 PM at Ferris Memorial Park North Ferris, TX.
