Lee Perez Gauna

Pastor Lee P. Gauna was born in Eldorado, TX on Jan 1, 1946. The Lord called him home on July 25, 2026 at the age of 80. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was a resident of Red Oak, TX for the past 10 years. Before that he lived in Ft Worth, Irving and Grand Prairie, Tx. Pastor Lee served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1968. He was stationed aboard the USS Delta AR-9 and was assigned as a Yoeman, where he received a National Defense Service Medal. After completing his duty to the service he moved to Ft Worth, TX. A couple of years later he moved to Irving, Tx where he started a family and began working for Haber Fabrics. He eventually became the warehouse supervisor and retired after 32 years when the company decided to close. In the year 1975 Pastor Lee gave his life to Jesus Christ. He began his faithful journey with the Lord while attending his brother Basilio Gauna's church. A few years later Pastor Lee and his family began attending Calvary Temple Church in Irving, TX Pastored by Don George where he learned to true meaning of ministry until he began his own church in 1987, Iglesia Palabra De Vida in Grand Prairie, TX for 3 years. Then went on to pastor at Tabernacle of Grace for many years until he retired in 2021. Gifted by God with musical talent at an early age, Pastor Lee played the guitar and then taught himself how to be proficient with other instruments. He had a good ear for music & a great desire to teach it. Pastor Lee's heart for God and the community poured out through his ministry, teaching, music and mentorship. He was a beloved teacher to all who wanted to learn. He spent countless hours providing free music lessons across the DFW metroplex. Not only did he donate his time & talent he also donated instruments to students that couldn't afford them. Pastor Lee was strong in his faith and loved spreading the good news to anyone who was willing to listen. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and were touched by him. He is survived by his three daughters Lois Bowstring, LeAnn Batres, Kristi Salinas and a son Edward Virgen. Many grandchildren and great grand-children. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day —and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Green Funeral Home - Red Oak, Texas.
