Laurence Homan Obituary

Laurence “Larry” Homan, born on February 1, 1953 in South Haven, Michigan to William and Cena (Young) Homan passed away on September 23, 2022. Growing up and graduating from Portage Northern High School in Michigan, he left the northern states for the warmer weather in Texas and in search of work in 1976. He met the love of his life Constance at a poker game. They were wed on October 21, 1978 and started their family. He was a doodle bugger in the oil field for most of his younger life in south Texas and Louisiana. Larry was known for his very dry sense of humor, often seen as a smart ass. He loved NASCAR. If he wasn’t home watching races on TV, he could be found at the Devils Bowl Racetrack in Mesquite, Texas. He had a passion for fishing and loved camping at Tres Rios in Glenn Rose, Texas. Being a jack of all trades, you could often find him in the garage working on something and gossiping with the neighborhood guys! Larry loved to grill when the weather got nice. He was very mechanically inclined and could figure most anything out. Larry was not very expressive with his emotions, but he knew how to show how much he cared in small gestures. He will be loved and missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Homan.

He is survived by his loving wife Constance; his children: son Tracey Homan of Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter Lisa Homan of Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter Brandy Mingus of Battle Creek, Michigan, son Brent and wife Wendy of Grapevine, Texas, daughter Erin and husband Jeff of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren: Tyler, Memphis, Jaxon, Ford, Allicyn, Brandon, Lisa, Mylik; six great -grandchildren; brother John Homan and sister Lydia Andrews; along with a host of other extended family members and friends.
