Larry Wayne McCord, age 71 of Ennis, Texas passed away February 12, 2023. He was born May 6, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to the late Joseph M. and Sadie Maxine (Morissett) McCord. He grew up in the Ferris, Texas area attending school at Wilmer-Hutchins. After high school he began truck driving and did so until the 1980’s. He then started working at the Farmer’s Market in Dallas until his retirement. He adored his nieces and nephew and was himself always a kid at heart. They recall fun trips he would take them on to Six Flags, attending their drill team performances and even took them on their first airplane ride. He was often careful when he took a nap, as his nieces were known to draw on his face while he was asleep. At Christmas time they remember his funny jokes and how he always put Christmas bows on their backs, laughing until they realized it was there. He could often be found listening to his favorite classic country music. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Maxine McCord, brother, Jerry Lynn McCord and sister Peggy Kilgore.
He is survived by his sisters: Patsy McCord of Seagoville, Texas, Linda Kerry of Nacogdoches, Louisiana and Sharon and husband Dewayne Casper of Ferris, Texas; nieces and nephew: Lori and husband Chuck McRae of Crandall, Texas, Cheryl A.
