Larissa Aguilar Obituary

Larissa Jolynn Aguilar, age 18 of Garland, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021. She was born February 3, 2003 in Ennis, Texas to Victor Aguilar, Jr. and Lori A. (York) Thompson. She grew up in Ellis County, learning at an early age to ride a motorcycle before she could ride a bike. She enjoyed the outdoors, four-wheeling, her family remembers her singing while riding around the property. She attended Ferris Schools, playing softball and basketball, everyone knowing her as “Tweety”, a pet name given to her by her grandmother Maria, but quickly adopted by everyone else, later playing Volley Ball at Garland High School, later graduating Crossroads Academy a year early in 2020 and just completed her bartending certification, planning to pursue her degree in nursing. She was a funny, sweet, yet serious individual, when her dad told her a joke she always had a good come back, or just threatened to cut his ponytail. She loved animals, especially the family pets: Smoky and Nick. She also enjoyed sports cars, going fast and loud burnouts. Her family remembers favorite trips to California snowboarding with her dad and stepmother and other wonderful trips to Florida and a cruise to Mexico with her mother and stepfather. Her parents will miss their beloved “Lala” dearly.
She is preceded in death by great-grandparents Johnny, "Papa Juan" and Angelina, "Mommy" Medina; great-grandparents H.L., "Porky" and Sue Parnell; great-grandparents Erma and Jim Edge; great-grandpa Kenneth Mitchell; great-uncle Rudy Mitchell and great-aunt Peggy Walker.
She is survived by her mother Lori and husband Bashir Thompson of Garland, Texas; her father Victor, Jr. and wife Lesia Aguilar of Bristol, Texas; brother Victor Ortiz and wife Mariah Nicole Aguilar of Ferris, Texas; sister Lindsey and husband Matt Courtney of Canyon Lake, California; niece Mackenzie Aguilar; niece Holland Rose Courtney; maternal grandparents Debbie and B.J.
