Kelly Smith Obituary

Kelly Jean (Maxwell) Smith, age 59 of Red Oak, TX passed away Friday, July 23, 2021. She was born May 24, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas to the late James Arthur and Jeanne (Weatherly) Maxwell. Her love of music begin at the age of two years old, learning to play the piano on her own. Her family later moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended school, meeting the love of her life Jimmy Smith. Together they were blessed with two children. Music was her life, she could hear a tune and play it; everything from rap to opera, she played in café bands and various bars, until meeting the Lord and she begin playing piano in church at Divine Hope in Red Oak. She was sometimes overprotective but more often she was comical and funny, sweet, loving and caring, honest and sometimes blunt, but always telling a person what they needed to hear. She was a good person and even through her illness she never complained. She had a great love for God and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and great-grandchild Jayden Smith

She is survived by husband Jimmy Smith of Red Oak; Daughter Susan Elizabeth Smith and companion Jason Presley of Oak Cliff; son Randy James Smith of Grand Prairie; daughter Cloe and husband Jager Goodwin of Red Oak; daughter Julianna Smith of Red Oak; sister Julia and husband Steve Hill of Poetry, Texas; brother James Edward Alan Maxwell of Little Rock, Arkansas; great-grandchild Ryder Smith of Red Oak.
